Image Curators partner with WE RESTART’s fundraising art campaign to support Ukrainian artist refugees.
Image Curators Advisory is honoured to announce that it is now a corporate partner of WE RESTART on the occasion of their Secret Art campaign, a project designed to support Ukrainian artists who are refugees in the UK.
In the past few months, over 100,000 British residents have signed up to host Ukrainian refugees for a minimum of six months in the UK, including those with no family in Britain. Numbers are only expected to rise in the coming weeks as more Western officials predict 4 million Ukrainian people will enter other European countries, sparking the largest refugee crisis since the Second World War.
Many of these refugees are artists. Through this campaign we are asking women visual artists all over the world to help WE RESTART raise funds to pay for the refugees' studio rental fees, materials and whatever they will need to continue their work as art practitioners.
How it works
To demonstrate that art can be truly accessible to everyone, each artwork can be secured upon a donation from £50. All artists are asked to not sign the artwork on the front. Donors can choose the artwork, but the name of the artist is revealed only after the acquisition.
Women artists are invited to create and donate artwork of the size of an A5. All artworks will be exhibited in June 2022 (possibly the last week of the month) online and during a special event in a primary location in London.
If you are interested in participating in this initiative, please check the Secret Artpage to learn more on how to submit your work, or email contact@we-restart.org
Submission deadline is 30th May 2022
About WE RESTART
WE RESTART is a London based not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to produce creative projects focussing on themes of, or where art functions as a tool of personal or collective resilience, recovery and restart or reconstruction of identity. WE RESTART advocates the role of women as beacons and active forces for restart processes, the healing power of narrative, the necessity for art to be democratic, directly experienced, a bridge between cultures and the “self” and the “other”.
Established in 2019, Image Curators Advisory is a London based advisory supporting visual artists from all around the globe with their professional development, from selling and promoting their art online, to pricing their works and negotiating with collectors and dealers. Being the only UK artist advisory led by women with 10 years combined first-hand experience in the industry, Image Curators Advisory’s mission is to show that the art world can be fun and inclusive.
