.... if you are exhibiting in a commercial art gallery, they are most likely trying to sell the artworks before the show is open, especially during the presale or private views. [...] it is always best to have more artworks available then the ones that are going to be displayed....

  1. Make sure the artworks are ready to be exhibited. Ask yourself: Are there still final touches that need to be done? If it is a painting, make sure that it is dry and there aren’t any scratches or dust.
  2. Take professional photographs of each artwork for marketing materials and social media campaigns
  3. Create Certificates of Authenticity for all the artworks
  4. Make sure that you have a clear idea who is providing what and what is the role of the gallery or other organisers.
  5. And during the show, promote your art and network as much as possible. Go and establish those meaningful relationships that will lead to future sales, commissions and collaborations!
